My NVIDIA GTX 280 video card had become defective and I was informed that a replacement would be available. I was then told after 2 days that they did not have my model in stock and I would have to wait up to 4 weeks for a refurbished card to come in. My other options where to accept a REFURBISHED ATI HD 4890, which is a slightly lesser of a card or a paid upgrade to an REFURBISHED ATI HD 5850 for $100 which is a slightly better card. My card cannot be purchased for less then $400 new and $275 refurbished on the market (NOT EBAY). The card XFX offered which I would have to pay $100 for "USED" can be purchased for $300 BRAND NEW on the market. I have pointed this out to them and when they replied to me they stated
"Hi, I spoke to you earlier on the phone. I checked into what we discussed and unfortunately the price for the upgrade to the 5850 is a fixed price that we get from our sales department so there is no leeway there. However I did check on when we`re getting 280s in and it should be pretty soon. Daniel"
Pretty soon? what does pretty soon mean? When I spoke to Daniel on the phone he informed me that card is hard to obtain and there is no guarantee when the card would be in. I replied with my dissatisfaction to this and I have had the cold shoulder since. (no reply, no contact)
