I just finished this whole process of getting my loan modified by loanmediate(end of june) and was fortunate to have a successful modification completed. I say fortunate because I had been originally declined by citi when I originally attempted doing it direct with Citi. I will say that the process took longer than I thought (three and a half months) I was originally told the process would take approximately two months. The end result was in line with expectations, the final offer being a 30year fixed at 4%, my original loan rate was 6.75. More importantly I had been 5 months delinquent prior to the modification, but I was allowed to take these and add them to the loan amount which only added $38 to my new reduced payment which I thought was a good tradeoff. I had hoped to have them forgiven but no such luck. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation, I have to admit I was worried during the whole process especially around the 3 month mark, but I'm glad I saw it through.
