Steer Clear of Home Relief Assistance. They charged me $500 to modify my second mortgage, which is against the Law in California (to charge fees before modification). They put in least possible effort over the course of three months and when it became clear that my second mortgage cannot be modified, they stopped returning my calls and emails. Finally, after I filed a complaint with BBB they refunded my $250 (according to the contract) and then threatened to sue me for "slandering their company". I do have concerns about my identity as I have no trust in the company anymore. If you are facing a similar situation with them, do file a complaint with BBB.
