Beware of Ernst and Haas Management Company. They have no concern for the cleanliness of the properties, safety of the property, safety of the residents, rental laws (that are not in their favor) and customer satisfaction. I recently rented an apartment. Their was no utilities on at the facility when it was shown and it was after dark. It was impossible to tell that the place was very dirty. Ernst and Haas claimed that it had new carpet and paint. After turning on the utilities it is clear that the paint was either old or applied very poorly. The carpet is far from new. Even the toilets were dirty (diarrhea under the lids). The whole building should be closed for repairs. The elevator is unsafe and can not obtain an operator's certificate. The building's fire-alarm system does not function and has been "under-repair" for six months. The CO ventilation system in the basement garage has been disable and likely does not function. The fire-exit in the back of the garage is locked and requires a key to escape! I asked to be let out of my lease due to the amount of issues and their disregard for insuring that health and safety items are addresses. They simply stated that they would sue me and hold me to an entire year's worth of rent!

Ernst & Haas is very much concerned with the condition of all of our homes and condominiums under management. We have investigated the reviewer’s claims in a previous review he posted on another site and found nearly all allegations to be unsubstantiated. We provided the reviewer with move-in photos of the condition and did not receive a response. Further, many of the items he has listed are beyond the scope of our management firm as the subject property is a 75 Unit condominium building and the alleged defects are located in HOA common areas and not part of the unit. We have spoken to this individual many times and believe that his reviews are retaliatory in nature based on our policy of early termination of leases. We do not feel that this review is a true reflection of the condition of the condominium or the level of service offered to our residents.
