Unfortunately, in my profession I have to use collection agencies on accounts that people leave with no regard. But, we are a family owned business and we in no way want to cause people strife, so we always ask that the collection agency representing us come to a "happy medium".
CSS contacted weeks if not months after I already paid my personal debt on an account I was disuputing but had PAID IN FULL.
They have sent me letters and called me for years now, demanding payment on...the interest?!?! After I showed them proof that the debt was paid in full and I was never notified that I needed to pay through them or pay them interest they have relentlessly contacted me trying harder and harder to squeeze a petty hundred bucks out of me.
They are very unsuccessful in receiving payment from me...and I am now filing suit for damages to my credit as a result of their negligence.
What a joke this company is!
