I took in a laptop that stopped charging and they agreed to replace the charging jack on the motherboard. I was using it every day up until the charging pin broke on the charging jack so I know the motherboard was fine. I called them to see if they would sell me the part and they cautioned me about putting it in myself as I could easily damage the mother board when soldering on it.
So, they called me up and told me they installed the jack but now the motherboard is bad. I am unable to spend any more money on the computer, so I offered to split the difference with him since something they had done damaged the mother board and now I couldn't afford to pay for that too.
He declined my offer and said he would take 99.00 for what he did and hand my computer back to me with a bad motherboard.
So, I felt they should take responsibility for damaging the motherboard and fix that - especially since I didn't do the repair myself because they strongly cautioned me about the possibility of damaging the motherboard during a repair such as that.
The owner also made a couple of snide comments to me: Where was my Bentley and how I should remember how much he did for me.
Then, he asked me to come back over there the following week cause he is going to take his part back off the motherboard, so he is apparently planning on selling it to someone else.
