After an elaborate search of vehicles across California, I found the vehicle with the exact options and price I was looking for at Audi of Downtown LA. I was willing to fly down from San Francisco (where I live) to Los Angeles to pick up the vehicle and I began working with this dealer on Monday, 10/11/10, regarding an internet special for a certified pre-owned 2007 Audi A3. The salesman, Rogelio Medina, was far from knowledgable in the specifics of the vehicle, the financing process, nor could he answer any questions regarding the certified pre-owned warranty. After being transferred to different people to answer my questions and negotiate a deal over the next few days, I informed the salesman that I was ready to secure the deal on the morning of Friday 10/15/10. The financing was agreed and I arranged to fly down on Saturday morning to pick up the car. The salesman agreed to have someone pick me up from the airport. He informed me Friday afternoon that in order to secure the deal, he needed a credit card authorization form completed. He said that once he received this form, the car would be secured and sold to me. I submitted the form within 30 minutes. The salesman called me and informed me that someone had scheduled a time to come into the dealer to look at this vehicle and was in the process of test driving it. I had questioned why the car had not been secured as I had submitted the credit card form to secure my deposit and I was told that since they did not have the form when the customer arrived to look at the vehicle, then it was available for any customer to purchase. This was completely different information from what the salesman originally informed me of and did not give me the option of securing a deposit via phone. The salesman informed me that he did know the correct information and was informed by his manager once he attempted to turn in my paperwork. The customer ended up purchasing the vehicle that evening and the dealer disregarded all of the time, effort, and comittement that I put into working with their salesman to purchase this car. I have never experienced such poor customer service and disregard of a comitted customer. As a result, I wasted a full week, countless hours via phone and email, and left without a vehicle and a one way plane ticket that was of no use.
