BUYER BEWARE:
I bought a 5th GEN, 80GB, Ipod. After a few years the product has stopped outputting sound despite never dropping the product and always storing safely. Everything appears to work fine except no sound comes from jack or the connection port. After researching it is a known problem and Apple replaced MANY other units but then they re-classified the problem as normal wear and tear. Turns out it was poorly soddered sound chip on the logic board which over time, from heating and cooling of the unit becomes disconnected. They lied to me on the phone about the issue both in scope and in resolution. They then lied to the BBB stating my Ipod had a repair record and was out of warentee. All the other replacments were for ipods which were also out of warentee.
DO NOT BUY APPLE PRODUCTS!!!!! THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. THEN THEN LIE TO YOUR FACE... THEIR PRODUCTS ARE EXPECTED TO FAIL WITHIN 3-4 yrs of PURCHASE AND THEN YOU ARE SCREWED AND OUT HUNDREDS OF $$$$ WITH BROKEN EQUIPMENT.
DO NOT BUY APPLE UNLESS YOU ARE MADE OF HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS.
