I wanted to compliment the North Hollywood, CA AAMCO transmission repair shop for telling me the truth about the transmission on my '95 Buick Regal not needing repair after it was towed there from a shop that said it needed overhaul to the tune of $1800.00! But, I don't blame that shop either because the transmission began to slip severely after I pressed on the gas pedal when a traffic light turned green. The car lurched forward only slightly as the transmission engaged momentarily but then quickly stopped because of severe slipping inside the transmission to the point that I had to pull it over and call AAA for a tow! So, the first mechanic thought it needed overhauling as much as I did after he got behind the wheel and tried to move it forward, but it barely moved at all. Yet, it only needed a new battery and alternator which was the cause of all the slipping, clunking and lurching of the transmission, not a faulty transmission itself. So, the guys at that North Hollywood, CA AAMCO transmission repair shop deserve kudos and mighty blessings from God for telling me to come and pick up my car after checking it out WITHOUT EVEN CHARGING ME FOR TOWING IT OVER TO THEIR SHOP! The whole experience was a 2,000.00-plus miracle, AAMCO said it might cost as much as 2,000.00 to fix it, because even AAA got in on it when they gave me a new battery for free without prorating it, which they could have done, as it was a year old with only a three-year guarantee on it! I have guardian angels in Heaven and others on Earth like the people at the North Hollywood, CA AAMCO transmission repair shop and the man, Richard, from AAA who gave me that battery! I guess the dead battery and bad alternator prevented the proper amount of electricity the solenoids, etc. inside the transmission need to operate properly. Once the people at the North Hollywood, CA AAMCO transmission repair shop charged the battery, the transmission worked fine! They told me when they called that the only thing they could find wrong with the car was that the battery was dead!
